After decades of emotional burnout, financial loss, health crises, grief, and the raw ache of spiritual exhaustion, our founder Aurora realized something profound: healing doesn’t begin with perfection. It begins with honesty. With breath. With humor. And with the sacred courage to feel without judgment.

The Heart Behind the Brand

I’m Aurora—and Karma Penguin rose from the ashes of a life that nearly unraveled me.

I experienced a painful marriage and divorce, financial collapse, chronic stress, and hospitalizations. I received a health diagnosis just as I was gaining momentum. Suddenly, everything was terrifying. My anxiety became physical—my heart would race, my blood pressure would plummet, and I often felt like I wanted to escape my own body. I managed that chaos in silence.

Then my beautiful soul sister passed. My heart didn’t just break—it shattered wide open. The grief cracked me into truth. Not long after, I lost my beloved kitty Cookie—my emotional support animal, my constant, my quiet healer. After 18 years of loving presence, she was gone. And with her, I lost the last safe space I had known. No one talked about that kind of loss. So I decided we would.

I tried everything: breath work, journaling, shadow work, mantras, spiritual coaching, and screaming into pillows. Some days I wanted to transcend. Other days, I just wanted to say, “I feel like dog poo” and be held in that truth.

Eventually, I stopped trying to fix myself—and started letting myself feel. Karma Penguin was created from that place. A space where spiritual depth meets emotional honesty, where we can be real, raw, irreverent, and still healing.

We’re not here to coddle. We’re here to love deeply and without conditions. We’re not here to judge. We’re here to hold space.

We may not always say the “right thing,” but we will always be real.

Penguins are wise, wobbly, loyal little warriors. They don’t try to be swans. They just show up—weathering storms, protecting their own, choosing love. They’re emotionally intelligent, community-driven, and beautifully resilient. And yes, they mate for life.

I’ve been asking for a penguin every birthday since I was a kid—not a toy, a real one. There’s always been something in their energy that felt like home. So when it came time to choose a symbol for this sacred brand, it had to be the penguin. Always the penguin.

No mentorships for now, but more is coming—aligned collaborations and heart-led creations that serve you in ways that matter.

I may be the founder and creative heartbeat of Karma Penguin—but I’m not the only voice here. There are some truly brilliant penguins in the mix: soulful collaborators, aligned creatives, and behind-the-scenes magic-makers. They may be a little shy for now, but trust me—you’ll meet them soon.
