The Sagittarius Shift: An Abundance Mindset from the Reception Desk to the Open Road

A woman stands in a meadow of white daisies during golden hour, eyes closed as she soaks in the warm sunlight. This visual represents the "Sun Song" somatic healing practice and the transition from a gray Northeast winter into a season of expansion and inner light. The soft, natural lighting emphasizes a regulated nervous system and the relief of choosing a path aligned with personal worth.

Yesterday was about being seen; today is about breaking free.

As we move into March 9, the energy shifts from the deep, watery depths of Scorpio into the fiery, expansive territory of Sagittarius. If Scorpio is about the truth we find in the dark, Sagittarius is about the truth we act upon in the light. It is the sign of the Archer, the seeker, and the traveler—and today, it’s asking you: What happens when you finally stop playing small?

When you stop playing small, the world doesn't just get bigger—it gets louder. I see this every day in my husband, a true Sagittarius. He is a larger-than-life personality who simply doesn’t "blend." He is bold, expansive, and unapologetically himself. On the rare occasion he feels unsure, you can tell immediately because he isn't his usual Sagittarian self—but when he is aligned, he takes up space in the most beautiful way. Living with that energy reminds me that we weren't born to fade into the wallpaper.

The Somatic "Snap"

I’ll never forget the moment my body reached its limit at that "grown-up" job. I was already being paid less than the previous receptionist while doing high-level research for partners who were raking in commissions.

Then, one of them said it. With a level of arrogance that still makes my blood boil, he suggested giving me more work "since I was bored." In that moment, something in me snapped. I wasn't "bored"; I was being harvested. I immediately emailed the owner and scheduled a meeting for the very next day. I gave my notice and didn't look back—even when he met my boundary with anger.

Relief, Fear, and the Northeast Winter

Walking out of that building for the last time was a somatic paradox. I felt relieved and terrified in the exact same heartbeat. But for the first time in months, my breath actually reached my belly.

During that gray Northeast winter of a job, I had survived on caffeine, tears, and a sugar habit I hadn’t had since I was a kid. I was literally trying to sweeten a life that felt bitter. I had no safety net, but I had my inner light back.

The BMW, the "Crow," and the Frequency of an Abundance Mindset

People who benefit from you not knowing your worth will always try to convince you that you’re "little ole you." They are, quite frankly, the dum-dums.

Years later, I had my "full circle" moment. I was driving through the city in my new BMW SUV. In New York, that car is a statement of success—not just because of the luxury, but because of the staggering cost of a parking garage. While about 92% of U.S. households own a vehicle, in New York City, that number drops to 45%. In Manhattan, only 22% of people own a car. To have one here—among the Bentleys, Maseratis, and Corvettes—is a choice to navigate the city on your own terms.

I drove right past one of those people from my past and watched their jaw drop. Cultivating a true abundance mindset means realizing that your success isn't just about the things you own, but the internal permission you've given yourself to thrive where you once only survived. The kicker? I eventually found out they closed that entire division of the company. I guess when you don't know what you are doing, it doesn't work right. The universe eventually balances the books.

The Quest: Hiking, Falling, and Sailing

If my life right now was a journey, it’s a Sagittarius quest. I’m hiking mountains, stumbling, and getting back up, only to jump on a boat and explore a vibrant new city. I’ve realized that during the "bad seasons," I have the strength and skills to figure it out. That is the true "fire" of Sagittarius—the unstoppable feeling in your stomach that tells you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

My Expansion in All Seasons

When I need a Gentle Reset, I go to two places that couldn't be more different:

  1. Billionaires Row: I soak in the frequency of success. It reminds me that the ceiling I once lived under was an illusion.

  2. The Statue of Liberty: I walk along the water and just breathe. There is a specific kind of beauty in all the seasons of this journey.

The Boss’s Rule

Now that I am the boss, I have one non-negotiable rule: No one is invisible. I make sure my team and my collaborators know they are appreciated.

I see them.

I thank them.

I appreciate them.

It’s about paying attention to each member and helping them rise—because we are only as successful as the collective light we foster in one another.

A Note for the Journey

If you are still feeling the deep, watery effects of Scorpio before you move into this Sagittarius expansiveness, please know that I stand with you. I invite you to feel whatever you are feeling—the fear, the relief, the "Northeast winter" of the soul—and know that you are worthy of the road ahead. You are not alone in your journey; we are all in this together.

Sending you lots of love and light as you find your own "Sun Song" and claim your seat at the table (or in the driver’s seat) ❤️
