How to Ask for Help (When You'd Rather Do It Yourself)
Today I asked someone to help me mend a dress—a small thing that revealed something much bigger. Learning how to ask for help has never come easily to me. I minimize what I need, worry I'm a burden, and tell myself I should just handle it alone. But helping didn't weigh this person down; it gave them purpose. The dress was never the lesson. The lesson was that I don't have to know how to fix everything, and neither do you.
